"He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High" (Ps 91:1)

It is one thing to live in a house and another to make a home out of a house. Some people treat their dwelling places like motels; casual, impersonal and distant. A home is not just a place of casual relaxation...a home is a place of retreat and rest. A home should be a place of peace...an oasis with ever flowing resources; human and material. A home is a place of laughter and joy; a place where arguments end with hugs and kisses. A home is a place of confidence, and comfort, a place of substance and stability...that's home!
The Lord your God is your home. He is a strong tower and a place of safety for the righteous (Prov 18:10). He is your tabernacle, a sure hiding place in times of trouble. The psalmist said; "One thing I have desired of the Lord, That will I seek. That I may dwell in the house of the Lord, All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple." (Ps 27:4). When you make God your dwelling place, you will learn to abide in his presence. Basking in God's awesome presence will rejuvenate and invigorate you for the race ahead. You cannot afford to have a casual "lie in" with the Lord nor can you "pass through" like a lodger in a bed and breakfast motel. Heaven is calling you today to make the Lord your resting place. Weather elements can be harsh to the skin in particular in the natural as it is in the spiritual. Being exposed to freezing weather conditions can leave a person seriously ill so also is the case when a person stands unprotected in very hot temperatures. A person who learns to abide in the cool of God's presence will flourish in any weather condition. The presence of God conditions you for any other weather condition natural or spiritual. The devil can't access God's presence so he aims his fiery darts at you but they shall all surely return to him unaccomplished (Is 54:17). Make God your home today and learn to abide in his wonderful presence. Peace, joy, prosperity, stability, security are just a few benefits you receive when you abide in God's presence. When you make the presence of God your residence the devil backs off from you. When you learn to abide in the Lord your God you will find a river of life that never stops. Why don't you move in today? Why don't you decide today to abide in the presence of the Almighty and hide under the shadow of his wings.
