Hillsong United worship leader talks about desire to reach the lost.

THE WORSHIP leader and songwriter with Australia's Hillsong United, Joel Houston spoke recently to America's Christian Retailing magazine about the phenomenal success of 'United We Stand', the latest album which has become a best seller in the UK Christian marketplace. He said, "There's a lot of people who need to know Jesus. If our worship is just great youth meetings, nice songs, lots of jumping around and a few CDs, then we're missing it. Our vertical expression must have a horizontal effect. So, we'll continue to worship, praise and honour God with heart, soul, mind and strength the best we know how, but the fruit of that must be a generation who are totally committed to reaching the lost and helping those who need help, locally and globally."  CR

I believe this is a very profound and explicit comment uttered by someone who has undoubtedly grasped the true secret of what our worship must consist of. It is an explanatory illustration of the message of the cross, a message so divine of love and tenderness. We must embrace our world as Jesus on the cross (his arms wide open embracing a dying world to save) yet we must also cultivate an authentic relationship with our Lord and God (Horizontal - this must be a work in progress like anything you wish to success at).
