Demon Hunter have built up a strong fan base in the nine years since their formation and after four studio albums, now release their first live set. This recording is taken from the Nashville date of their Stronger Than Hell Tour. The show has also been released as a DVD which came with the '45 Days' CD/DVD set released in 2008. So if you already have that then this will not be new to you. Tooth & Nail's subsidiary Solid State seem to have a knack for finding the best Christian metalcore bands on the scene and Demon Hunter have definitely established themselves as one of them. Whilst the main focus of this album is on the newer songs they do include some earlier material including one track, "Infected", from their self-titled debut. The sound quality on the whole album is excellent for a live recording and is almost studio quality while the technical ability of the musicians really shines through. The energy and the ferocity of the sound impact the listener with its brutal breakdowns and heavy guitar riffs. Ryan Clark's vocals sound strong and again replicate the quality of the studio recordings. The band ring the changes on the slow burning ballads "My Heartstrings Come Undone" and "Carry Me Down" and on the piano soaked "Follow The Wolves". This is a great introduction to Demon Hunter for those who are new to the group. If you are already a fan and have their studio albums this may not be an essential purchase.
