This album took several listens to get into. The effort was worth it because this is a good offering. However, it would fail the Old Grey Whistle Test in that it is short on hummable, memorable tunes even after a few hearings, which is a shame. If there was a category for '70s derived prog rock this album would fit it quite neatly. The promo material suggests comparisons with Moody Blues, Pink Floyd and Radiohead and the comparison is fair. There are hints of all these and other musical influences in this album. If anything the album lacks its own identity as a musical style and again this is a shame because it is well played and presented. Lyrically it presents a journey from darkness to light and there are thought provoking moments all along the way. For me the stronger tracks include "Mist In The Trees" and "My Faith Is Strong".
