No, your eyes do not deceive you; this is an album of lullabies by one time presenter of the Rock Gospel Show, Sheila Walsh. Not her usual fare, but all the more appealing because of that. This album is, in her own words, an attempt "to blend the soothing sounds of the traditional Celtic instruments of my homeland with the message of the tenderness of the love of God" and a very successful one it is too. The packaging and title show that it is primarily aimed at children, but its subtitle, 'Gentle Worship', hints at something deeper than just a collection of children's songs. What you have in fact is a very fine collection of soothing melodies, which are guaranteed to bring the peace of God into any heart, whatever its age, (hence my reason for classifying this as "Celtic" over "childrens"). The first song, "Hymn Of Blessing", reminds me very much of Enya, as does the dreamy "I Will Carry You", but then one may expect such comparisons given the style and vocal qualities. There are a number of tunes you will probably recognise too, namely "The Lord's My Shepherd", "Jesus Loves Me" and "God Is So Good" and it is good to hear these well known favourites given a different interpretation.

A wonderfully soothing and worshipful collection of songs, which our little one hears each evening as he settles down to sleep. His Mummy enjoys listening too and spends a few moments in the still of the evening reflecting on the goodness of God at the same time.
